This is a notice to the public that the President of SAFA Tshwane has been served with the summons to appear before the SAFA national disciplinary hearing on the 6th of September 2023.
The details around the charges and the details of the hearing itself are classified as “STRICTLY PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL” by SAFA. Therefore, we are currently not at liberty to divulge the information as yet. However, we do commit to provide all the required information when the time comes.
The important thing to communicate on this platform is that President Mohlabeng will honour the hearing, and that he will be represented by a legal counsel on the matter. All the angles of the matter are being looked and all possible effort will be put in to ensure a successful defence.
Speaking as a council that supports and advises the President, we can safely say these charges have no element of trying to correct a wrong, but rather the intent is to intimidate people with views, and eliminate potential competition. This has in any case been the modus operandi used by SAFA over the years.
But without getting too much into politicking, to SAFA Tshwane as a SAFA region, all its Local Football Associations and Associate Members, all those who support the work of the President (inside and outside of SAFA) and the efforts to bring about far reaching and positive changes at SAFA, please be assured that all reasonable effort is being put into defending the President on this matter, and that we are looking forward to engaging the public about these and related matters after the hearing and / or the outcome thereof.
