This is a brief update on the suspension of SAFA Tshwane President and candidate of the SAFA Presidency Mr. Solly Mohlabeng.
After being removed from the SAFA Congress of the 26th of March 2022 where the CEO immediately announced that Mr. Solly Mohlabeng has also been suspended by the Congress and pending a disciplinary hearing. He also reported that a letter of suspension and the charge sheet would be sent to Mohlabeng on the 28th of March, which was a Monday.
The letter did not come until Friday the 1st of April and dated the 31st of March 2022 with subject “SUSPENSION PENDING A DISCIPLINARY HEARING ARISING FROM YOUR CONDUCT AT THE SAFA CONGRESS HELD ON 26 MARCH 2022 IN JOHANNESBURG”. We also provide a link to the letter here for your information.
We are consulting with the legal advisers about the contents of this letter and a course of action will be announced on this platform.
Please note that the Solly4President campaign continues nonetheless, and we are looking forward to the elective Congress.

To be honest I am disappointed. I don’t know how that can make someone suspended. Maybe the charge sheet will tell us why. SAFA can’t be ruled by one person till Jesus comes. We need change and we need it now. Our soccer is not better under the current leadership

The letter says the charge sheet will be send in due course. When will that be? I strongly suspect that the aim is to drag this issue so as to make it difficult for Pres. Mohlabeng to campaign with this dark cloud of ‘charges in due course’ hovering over his head. Mr President, please soldier on. We are fully behind you. Kindly ask your campaign team to increase the pace and speed of campaigning. Remember due course might be after the elective congress.
