Football cannot sustain itself and cannot reach greater hights if it always treats itself as a hobby. There comes a time when even the smallest deliverables in football must be managed and delivered as per expectations. This cannot happen when the value chain of football is operated and managed by volunteers. At minimum, we must get to a point where there is no football club, LFA, region or provinces that does not have a renumerated Administrator for starters.
- From Hobby to Imperative: Football cannot sustain itself and cannot reach greater hights if it always treats itself as a hobby. There comes a time when even the smallest deliverables in football must be managed and delivered as per expectations. This cannot happen when the value chain of football is operated and managed by volunteers. At minimum, we must get to a point where there is no football club, LFA, region or provinces that does not have an Executive Officer for starters.
- Sustainable Funding Channels: Apart from grants that are expected from SAFA, there is a sustainable funding possibility at grass roots level. The relationship between parents and clubs is of extreme criticality to achieve this. Once this is achieved, LFAs can set their fees to a level where they are able to afford predictable and sustainable operations using Executive Officers. This funding channel must be unlocked.
- Growth of Quality Output: Once associations can generate more funding to afford more predictable, sustainable, and qualitative operations, a way needs to be paved for the creation of roles for qualified and renumerated Technical Officers.
